Comparison of training demand of Alzheimer's disease caregivers in different care
environments

[ Abstract ] Objective: To know the current situation and characteristics of training demand of AD caregivers in different care environments.  
Methods: One memory clinic, one geriatric ward and one elderly care center were conveniently selected in the main urban area of Chongqing  
from February to March in 2020, and 100 caregivers per group of AD were investigated by questionnaire survey, to compare the differences  
in training demand between the three groups. Results: (1)285 valid questionnaires were collected. The top three preferred training forms of  
caregivers were written publicity, face-to-face education and special lectures. The most favorite training forms in memory clinic, elderly care  
center and geriatric ward were special lectures, written propaganda and face-to-face education (χ2 =68.996, P<0.05).(2) The top three preferred  
training contents of caregivers were hospice care, mental behavior symptom management, and nursing job responsibilities. The most popular  
training contents for the above groups were mental behavior symptom management, hospice care, and nursing duties (χ2 =11.755, P 0.05).
Conclusion: The training demand of AD caregivers are related to the care environment, and the care training should be targeted.
